Check this on the 1920 census under Daniel B. Wicker. Newsletter says that
they (Daniel and Rena) had twin girls, newborn, in 1920 census of Cumberland
Co., NC. I believe they had to be NELLIS' children, since Rena Florence
McCordall, Nellis' mother, died in 1915 according to the same newsletter! rcw
Mr. Wicker was a local historian of note, publishing several articles and a
book on Moore County, NC. He was instrumental in 1956 in helping the editor of
the Whicker/Wicker book to establish contact with the Wicker family in North
Carolina. He had all the qualities desirable in a scholar - courtesy,

Kemp was a baseball star at NCSU and played for the New York Yankees in 1937
when he helped pitch the Yankees to an American League Pennant and a World
Series Championship. He was a Minor League manager for several years.

Marriage dates were computed from the Richmond City Directory. Mr. Wicker
worked for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, first as a brakeman, then as a
conductor. In 1950, Mrs. Kathleen E. Wicker owned K. E. Wicker Real Estate at
104 W. Main Street, Richmond.
