Descendants of Henry Whicker

Notes

2460. Nellis Wicker

Check this on the 1920 census under Daniel B. Wicker. Newsletter says that
they (Daniel and Rena) had twin girls, newborn, in 1920 census of Cumberland
Co., NC. I believe they had to be NELLIS' children, since Rena Florence
McCordall, Nellis' mother, died in 1915 according to the same newsletter! rcw

2051. Rassie Everton Wicker

Mr. Wicker was a local historian of note, publishing several articles and a
book on Moore County, NC. He was instrumental in 1956 in helping the editor of
the Whicker/Wicker book to establish contact with the Wicker family in North
Carolina. He had all the qualities desirable in a scholar - courtesy,
erudition and caring. (From the Whicker/Wicker book, pp. 243)

2080. Kemp Caswell Whicker

Kemp was a baseball star at NCSU and played for the New York Yankees in 1937
when he helped pitch the Yankees to an American League Pennant and a World
Series Championship. He was a Minor League manager for several years.

worked for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, first as a brakeman, then as a
conductor. In 1950, Mrs. Kathleen E. Wicker owned K. E. Wicker Real Estate at
104 W. Main Street, Richmond.
