From information gathered by Norman Scott, and sent to me by Mike Parsons, we
find that Thomas died as a result of a tree falling on him. Each child was
raised by a family related in some way to Thomas. rcw

"Rindy" was married three additional times. Her children took care of her on a
rotating basis when she got old. In the 1870 census, she is living with her
son Daniel, as is another son, Henry. Her birth date and state was taken
from that census. Her parents were both born in North Carolina.
She had palsy and shook continuously when she was awake, but not at
all when she was asleep. rcw
From information sent to me by Mike Parsons, which information was gathered by
Norman Scott who is now deceased:
"Sarah and Alonzo had a number of children that died while still early in
childhood. One of these was named Rory. They had four children that survived
into adulthood. The family moved to Muncie in 1904. I have recently learned
that Sarah was raised by a family named Shelton near Arlington, Indiana. These
Sheltons were cousins of Alonzo Gibson." rcw

"Lon and his children built a good sized business over the years. Lon
apparently started out in Shelby Co., Indiana. These is a story that he
started by going to a bank and borrowing $10 for three months. He took the
money home and put it in a cookie jar. When the three months were up, he took
the money out, added the interest and repayed the bank. Having thus
established his credit, he borrowed enough to start his business. If this
event actually happened, it must have been to buy a farm that he had in Shelby
or Fayette counties before moving to Muncie. I know he had a farm in Fayette
County. I'm not sure about Shelby County. After the family moved to the
Muncie area, Lon went into truck farming and raised "starter" plants that were
sold through local grocery stores. People would buy these and set them out in
their own garden to obtain home-grown vegetables. By the time Lon died, the
holdings had expanded to include ice plants in three towns, an ice-cream plant
in Muncie, a skating rink (originally ice but later converted to roller), and
farm and residential real-estate. The ice and ice-cream plants no longer
operate. The rink is still in operation and is run by a grandaughter." rcw

Elias and "Eliza" are on the 1900 census, E.D. 110, pg. 5 in Shelby Co.,
Indiana. This census indicates that they have had 3 children, but one has
died. It is possible that Eveline (Evey) is the child named Maria, b. Nov
1889, in this census. If Evey and Maria are not the same, then there are TWO
more children instead of just one........Maria and the child that is deceased.
These children need to be found. rcw
