William's family was found in the 1870 census in Shelby County, Indiana, pg.
343B. His age is given there as 44, which would mean that he was born in 1825
and would have turned 45 on his birthday taken later in the month of the census
(June). If he was born in 1829 as the Whicker/Wicker book indicates, then he
should have been listed as 40 before his birthday in the year of 1870. The
son, Franklin, was not listed in the Whicker/Wicker book, for some reason. rcw
Cyrus Carmony is found in the 1870 census of Hanover Twp., Shelby Co.,
Indiana, residing with Samuel Wicker. A young girl (boy?) named Zeniah, age
13, b. Indiana, is also living with Samuel and Cyrus. I cannot tell whether Zeniah is surnamed Carmony or Whicker. Many Whicker/Carmony marriages seemed to take place in Shelby County. Looking at probate or guardianship papers may help solve this puzzle. rcw
